Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026. This English version is provided for convenience. The German version is legally binding.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Manuel Eigen
Waldemarstr. 81 10997 Berlin
Email: mail@manueleigen.de

I am not required to appoint a data protection officer. If you have any questions about data protection, simply write to the email address given above.

2. In short

This website uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking tools and no embedded third-party content. I only process personal data when you write to me via the contact form or by email – and for the technical operation of the site (server logs). The following sections explain exactly what happens.

3. Hosting (Vercel)

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you access the site, Vercel automatically processes data transmitted by your browser (server logs):

  • IP address
  • date and time of access
  • page or file accessed
  • browser type and version, operating system
  • referrer URL (the page you visited before)

This data is required to deliver the website, operate it securely and detect attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website). I do not evaluate the server logs myself in a way that identifies individuals.

Vercel also processes data in the USA. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR); in addition, the transfer is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), which form part of Vercel’s data processing agreement. Further information: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

4. Contact form and email

When you write to me via the contact form, I process the data you enter: name, email address and message. I use it solely to answer your enquiry and – if it comes to that – to coordinate a project with you.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into, or performance of, a contract) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering your enquiry) where no contract is involved.

To deliver the form message to my mailbox, I use the service Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). Resend forwards your message to me as an email; in doing so, your name, email address, message and technical metadata (e.g. time of sending) are processed. Resend is a processor within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR; the transfer to the USA is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), which form part of Resend’s data processing agreement. Further information: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy

Retention: I delete your enquiry as soon as it has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way. If a contract is concluded, the statutory retention periods apply (6 or 8 years under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and Fiscal Code (AO) for business correspondence and invoicing records).

The form contains an invisible protective field against spam bots and checks on the server whether it was submitted unrealistically fast. No additional data about you is stored in the process.

5. Local storage in your browser (dark mode, language)

This website remembers your choice between the light and dark design in your browser’s local storage (key “theme”). This is not a cookie; the information never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to me or to third parties. Storing it is technically necessary to provide the design you have chosen (Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG); no consent is required. You can delete the entry at any time via your browser settings.

The website is available in German and English. On your first visit, the language is derived from your browser’s language settings. If you switch languages using the toggle, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage (key “locale”) so that you see your preferred language on your next visit. This is not a cookie either; the entry only contains the language code, never leaves your browser and is necessary for this function (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser.

6. No cookies, no analytics, no embeds

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or marketing tools (no Google Analytics, no pixel) and embeds no third-party content (no videos, maps or social media widgets). Fonts are not loaded from external servers; the website uses the system fonts available on your device. Links to external profiles (e.g. LinkedIn, Malt, Behance and Instagram) are plain links; the respective providers only process data once you click on them.

7. Your rights

You have the following rights vis-à-vis me regarding your personal data:

  • access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)

To exercise them, simply write to mail@manueleigen.de.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is:

Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information)
Alt-Moabit 59–61
10555 Berlin, Germany

8. Changes

I will update this privacy policy if the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here at the time applies.
